We're storytellers... inspired by simple, modern, eclectic, and non-traditional.
Around 6 years.
We started photographing weddings in 2006. It's grown since then to become our full-time gig and we cannot imagine doing anything else - we love it!
(That's us up there, just about to start shooting a wedding!)
We have four Canon Digital SLR camera bodies (two 5D Mark II bodies as our main ones plus other Canon DSLRs as back-ups) and an assortment of lenses that work well in low-light atmospheres. Our Canon lenses include 35mm 1.4L, 50mm 1.2L and 1.4, 85mm 1.2L, 135mm 2.0L. We also use a Sigma 15mm 2.8 (Fish-eye).
We have flash equipment, but try to only use it when it is necessary, or in a way (normally off-camera) that makes the scene more dynamic.
Only the best small town in America, it's located 90 miles west of Madison, WI and 30 miles southeast of La Crosse, WI
Usually 6-8 weeks.
We typically deliver between 400-750 final files. We'll be sure to contact you as soon as they are ready!
*sidenote: We do not offer the original, RAW files as we feel they subtract from the final images and how the day is viewed.
Yes - we don't mind that at all and actually think it's smart of you to ask all potential photographers this question.
All photographers highlight their best/favorite work on their website/blog, but we believe great images and editing care should continue through every image for every wedding.
Just contact us with that request and we'd be glad to send the links and passwords to a couple albums from our most recent weddings.
Of course - these photos are essential; however, we like to limit this time in order that it doesn't detract from our ability to create the natural style for which our clients hire us.
We prefer to keep it casual and to only do a limited amount of family/group photos (usually between 5-10 arrangements). Also, we highly recommend doing these outside.
If you're planning to have a large amount of family/group combinations in the front of a church, then you may want to seek out a more traditional-style wedding photographer.
We're all about the story.
Therefore, if you feel that a list of all the necessary photos of the day is essential, then we are probably not be the best fit for you.
We're aware that a lot of wedding planning websites and magazines suggest this sort of thing, but the shots on these lists are ones that we, as professional wedding photographers, already fully intend to capture.
If you haven't already, please contact us to see if we're still available for your wedding date and to let us know that you're ready for a contract.
Once you've filled out the contract and submitted that and the $1000 retainer, your date is secured! YAY! Then you can sleep well, knowing that you and your future wedding photos are in good hands. :)
For the retainer,
we accept check, online payment through Dwolla or credit card (taken over the phone for any payment $1000 or less).
For the final payment,
we accept check or cash on or prior to the wedding day.
